Suzanne Isom, 64, of Benton Harbor went to be with her Lord on Monday, May 25, 2015, at Royalton Manor in Royalton Township.

 

Services celebrating her life will be at 11 a.m. Monday, June 1, at Full Gospel Tabernacle, 1800 Territorial Road, Benton Harbor, with the Rev. Carl J. Horne officiating. Burial will follow in North Shore Memory Gardens. The visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. Monday at the Tabernacle. Arrangements are by Fairplain Chapel of Florin Funeral Service in Benton Harbor. Suzanne was born Sept. 29, 1950, in Benton Harbor to T.J. Sr. and Susie Isom. She graduated from Western Michigan University. Suzanne retired in 2009 after 28 years as an art teacher for Benton Harbor Area Schools. She taught over the years at the Fairplain Junior High School, Sorter School and Benton Harbor High School. She was a member of the Michigan Educational Associaton. She enjoyed arts and crafts and cooking, and she loved to spoil her nieces and nephews.

She is survived by her sisters, Mary Ann Jones, JoAnn Willie, Lili Taylor, Angie Jackson and Rose Jackson, all of Benton Harbor; her brothers, James Isom of Benton Harbor, Cleofus Isom of Jackson and Percy Truss, of Canton, Miss.; her special children, Erica Stansberry of Benton Harbor and Keenah Taylor of Indianapolis; her special friends, Shirley Wiggins of Stevensville and Robert Cantania of Stevensville; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Gertha Mitchell; and her brother, T.J. Isom Jr.
